Who are we?
PayPal is one of the leading global online payment services built for the digital age. We now have over 123 million active customers around the world and handle almost a fifth of the world’s online payments. And we’re delivering the future of money – today. As part of the eBay Inc. family, PayPal continues to drive connected commerce across all channels - online, mobile and in-store. Last year, we handled nearly $14 billion in mobile payments alone.
What do we offer?
As an Engineer at PayPal you will be provided with a brand-new MacBook, free access to O’Reilly eBooks and regular tech talks. We offer an interesting and rapidly growing company, anchored in the global eBay company. Use our shuttle service to get to our campus where you can find a free gym with many courses, a first class canteen, a café, bike rental outlet, tabletop soccer and many more things to discover. Also keep in mind that you will be provided with a company pension scheme as well. On top principally we are offering flexible working times and if possible part time solutions.
What are we doing?
We develop payment solutions for ecommerce providers and online shops. We work in small teams, using agile methodologies and collaborate closely with our stakeholders from Product, Sales, Marketing and Customer Support. We develop test-driven and implement modular and scalable software. As a team, we organize how we work – we are independent in shaping our internal approaches and processes. We value each other’s contributions and give constructive feedback, jointly tackle new challenges, learn continuously and celebrate successes. We deliver new features regularly at the end of short iterations. As part of this, refactoring is one of the tasks we tackle every day. We try to automate routine jobs so they do not stop us from doing actual development work.
